Chartered 21 April 1928 in Asheville, North Carolina, and is the oldest active Chapter in Western North Carolina.

On November 2, 2024, at the King Family Cemetery in Hendersonville, North Carolina, the Blue Ridge Color Guard presented colors in a grave marking ceremony for Patriot Samuel King, Sr. The Blue Ridge Chapter also provided the order of service, including a wreath, and rendered honors for the event. The following Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter members rendered honors and provided wreaths: Ruth Davidson Chapter (Brenda Canter and Becky Wood), Abraham Kuykendall Chapter (Connie Issacson and Karen Newhall), and Waightstill  Avery Chapter (Jill Chapman).

Blue Ridge Chapter members President Steve Greene presided and gave the invocation and the benediction, Craig Issacson served as Master of Ceremony, Ron Hillabrand led the Pledge of Allegiance,  SAR Pledge, and the SAR Recessional, and Ron Chapman read his poem “Blood Gift.” Compatriot Gary King (4x great-grandson of Patriot King) read a biography of Patriot King. Samuel Powell, NCSSAR Treasurer and a member of the Alamance Battleground  Chapter, also served in the commemoration.

The following Color Guard members participated: Brett Callaway, Mark Callaway, Larry Chapman, Dave Gunther, Garry Linton, Brain McCall, Ken Weglarz, Bob Wood, and Samuel Powell.

Thirty-eight family members and friends attended this solemn event.

It is easy to see that the Blue Ridge Chapter is an active, energetic, busy Chapter that is always looking for new members to help us reach our challenging goals for the recognition of the sacrifices our Patriots made for us to enjoy all the freedoms we have today.
