Chartered 21 April 1928 in Asheville, North Carolina, later became the Ble Ridge Chapter, and is the oldest active Chapter in Western North Carolina.

On July 4, 2024, there was an unveiling ceremony of the 250th Celebration of the Revolutionary War Patriots Marker commemorating the men and women who achieved American Independence and are buried in Henderson County North Carolina. This event took place in the Historic Courthouse Courtyard. This marker was purchased by the combined efforts of the Abraham Kuykendall NSDAR Chapter, the Joseph McDowell NSDAR Chapter, and the Blue Ridge NCSSAR Chapter.

Blue Ridge Chapter Color Guard members in attendance and presenting colors were: Garry Linton, Larry Chapman, Craig Isaacson, Ron Chapman, Ken Weglarz, and Steve Greene.

NCSSAR Mountain Region VP Craig Issacson and Blue Ridge Chapter President Steve Greene read the names of the patriots who are buried in Henderson County North Carolina. In attendance were other chapter compatriots, numerous dignitaries including the new NCDAR State Regent, Cricket Crigler.

It is easy to see that the Blue Ridge Chapter is an active, energetic, busy Chapter that is always looking for new members to help us reach our challenging goals for the recognition of the sacrifices our Patriots made for us to enjoy all the freedoms we have today.
