After the February 24th, 248th Moores Creek Battleground Anniversary Ceremony, the NCSSAR New Bern Chapter, inducted nine (9) members of the Harris family into the SAR. Gary Green, NSSAR Genealogist General, along with Gary Gillette, NCSSAR New Bern Chapter President, did the honors of the inductions. Also in attendance, along with ten (10) members from the New Bern Chapter Color Guard, were Steve Van Pelt (NCSSAR Society President) and Sam Powell (NCSSAR Society Treasurer). Members of the Harris family inducted were: Thomas Edward Harris, Michael Thomas Harris, Logan Wias Harris, Marvin Eugene Harris, Owen Michael Harris, Ryan Burke Harris, Marvin Eugene Harris, Jr, Cameron Eugene Harris, and Parker Jennings Harris. The Harris family’s Patriot Ancestor is Milbea Musselwhite, who was a Private in the NC Militia.
