Chapter Vice President Mark Pace presented the Halifax Resolves Chapter Wreath at the 243rd Commemoration of the Crossing of the Dan in Constitution Square, South Boston, Virginia on Saturday, February 17, 2024.

The Crossing of the Dan River was the culmination of the race to the Dan River between the American southern army under the command of General Nathaniel Greene and the British army under the command of General Charles, Lord Cornwallis.

This “race” was an attempt by Lord Cornwallis to take back troops captured at the Battle of Cowpens.
