NCSSAR Blue Ridge Chapter May 2023 Activity
Chartered 21 April 1928 in Asheville, North Carolina, and later became the Blue Ridge Chapter it is the oldest active Chapter in Western North Carolina.
On May 18, 2023, Lt.Col. (Ret.) Larry Chapman gave the Bronze Award from the NCSSAR Blue Ridge Chapter to Luke Cochran for his strong commitment to all the principles he has learned as a JROTC Cadet during his education at Rosman High School.

On May 17, 2023, NCSSAR Blue Ridge Chapter President Steve Greene gave the Bronze Award to Jordan Allison for his strong commitment to all the principles he has learned as a JROTC Cadet during his education at Madison High School.

On May 20, 2023, with about 160 people in attendance at the Lincoln-Reagan Dinner for the Henderson County GOP, the NCSSAR Blue Ridge Chapter Color Guard members Larry Chapman, Garry Linton, and Ken Welgarz presented the Colors for the opening of the event.

On May 29, 2023, with about 300 people in attendance, Transylvania County held its annual Memorial Day Event in Brevard, North Carolina. NCSSAR Blue Ridge Chapter Color Guard member Jeff Brewer, in his Continental uniform, was present representing our chapter.

On June 6, 2023, Cadet C/CPT Parker Plekan from Erwin High School in Asheville received the Bronze Award from the Blue Ridge Chapter for his outstanding achievements in the JROTC program.

It is easy to see that the Blue Ridge Chapter is an active, energetic, busy chapter that is always looking for new members to help us reach our challenging goals for the recognition of the sacrifices our Patriots made for us to enjoy the freedoms we have today.
