On Saturday, 29 October 2022 the New Bern Chapter inducted seven (7) new members at the Pollock Street Gates of Tryon Palace, New Bern, NC. The new members flanked by family, friends, chapter members and Color Guard are (l to r): Greg Woodard (representing his father George Woodard); Herman “Jake” Jennette; Jason Jennette; Bobby Darden; Sam Darden; Michael Gooden; and Dennis “Denny” Lawrence. George Woodard was sworn in by his grandson and New Bern member Davis Benedict (former State President of the N.C.S.C.A.R.) and pinned by his daughter Kathy Benedict (DAR member and former Senior President of the N.C.S.C.A.R.). Bobby Darden was pinned by his wife, Elizabeth, and then inducted his son, Sam Darden, who was pinned by his mother, Elizabeth. Dennis Lawrence was pinned by his grandson, Jacob, who will also soon be a member of the New Bern Chapter.
