About 50 family, friends, SAR Blue Ridge Chapter Compatriots, including the Chapter Color Guard and members of the DAR from Rutherford and McDowell Chapters gathered to honor the sacrifices made by William Terrell Lewis’s 2x Grandson Patriot,Sgt. Charles Lewis in fighting to secure the freedoms we all enjoy today.

Opening ceremonies conducted by Blue Ridge Chapter President Craig Issacson.

A detailed rendition of the life and times of his 2x Grandson was given by Blue Ridge Chapter Compatriot, William Terrell Lewis.

Blue Ridge Chapter Compatriot, Tom Long recited the poignant words from the Hallowed Ground:

Dedication of the Marker and Benediction was given by Blue Ridge Chapter Grave Committe Chairman Ron Chapman and Blue Ridge Chapter Chaplain Rev. Thomas Rightmyer.

It is easy to see that the Blue Ridge Chapter is an active, energetic, busy, chapter that is always looking for new members to help us reach our challenging goals for the recognition of the sacrifices our Patriots made for us to enjoy the freedoms we have today.
