Catawba Valley Chapter SAR along with Jacob Forney Chapter DAR held their first annual George Washington Birthday Afternoon Tea, Sunday, February 20th. The celebration began with Chapter President, Ben Setser presenting in coming Jacob Forney Regent, Fran Goins with a Certificate of Appreciation for her constant presence and involvement with whatever our chapter may be doing. Thank you so much Fran. Many people came today. We had guest from one CAR chapter, 3 SAR chapters and 4 DAR chapters along with several members of Thunder Over Carolina Inc. The food and the fellowship was wonderful. Our speaker, Robert Patton from the Col Alexander Erwin Chapter, gave a great exposé about certain weapons used during the Revolutionary war and brought several actual weapons of the period. A great time was had by all. If you missed it, well you just missed out. Join us next year if you can.
