On 16 October, New Bern SAR Chapter, joined members from the Halifax Resolves SAR Chapter, along with members of the DAR, American Legion, and Scouts Troop 555, in marking ceremonies for Patriots Anthony Winston and John Winston; and Patriots Dr. Daniel T. Smithwick, Macon Glenn Smithwick, Daniel Smithwick, Colonel Donald Vann Holliday and Dr. Hodge Albert Newell. New Bern Chapter members in attendance were: Robert Webster, Jay DeLoach, Bob Rigg, Scott Brick and Scott Woolard.
