At the September 8, 2021 New Bern Chapter meeting, at The Chelsea restaurant, New Bern, NC, Becky Preece of the Richard Dobbs Spaight Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution was awarded the SAR National Molly Pitcher Medal for her extended support to the SAR Color Guard at a variety of local, state and national events while wearing Revolutionary-era attire. Her husband, Rolf Maris of the New Bern Chapter, received the SAR Silver Color Guard Medal qualifying Becky for the medal. Becky was unable to attend the chapter meeting and the award was accepted by her husband Rolf.
