On Sept 11, 2019, the New Bern Chapter of the NC SAR, presented an American Flag certificate to the Courtyard New Bern Riverfront Hotel. The SAR Flag Certificate is presented to organizations and businesses, in recognition of their “Exemplary Patriotism in displaying the Flag of the United States of America”.  The Courtyard, part of the Marriott family, kept it’s American flag flying, through the night, during Hurricane Dorian, and every other night, with spotlights following the wind-blown flag. The Courtyard New Bern Riverfront overlooks the Neuse River, and is located in the downtown historic district. This facility has 98 rooms, and 925 square feet of total meeting space.
