Today, 10 June, at the Cedar Grove Cemetery in New Bern, SAR members participated in burying an SAR Grave Marking Stone, at the grave site of Patriot Samuel Gerock, who served in the German Battalion of the Continental Army from 1776-1778. The Marker was placed in preparation, for the Grave Marking ceremony with the DAR Elizabeth Maxwell Steele Chapter (Salisbury), to be held on 13 June. Those present are Gary Gillette (New Bern Chapter Registrar), Jay DeLoach (New Bern Chapter President), and Caden Danielson (Gary Gillette’s grandson, Jr Member of the Tampa Fla SAR Chapter).
