New Bern Chapter President Jay DeLoach inducted his father Jesse DeLoach into the SAR at his father’s home in San Antonio, Texas on May 4th.  Their patriot ancestors were also a father-son combination – Hardy DeLoach, Sr. and John H. DeLoach who served in the Upper Granville Regiment in the South Carolina militia which was part of Brigadier General Francis Marion’s Brigade.  Their patriot ancestors fought in the Battle of Parker’s Ferry #2 on August 30, 1781.
