On March 31, Compatriots of the New Bern SAR Chapter performed a flag raising ceremony at the Habitat for Humanity home dedication at 814 West Street to the Powell family.  Flag Chairman and Habitat volunteer Lee Purcell carried the American flag in the Color Guard, led the attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance, and presented the Powell family with a booklet on the US Constitution.  Chapter members in attendance were Jay DeLoach (Chapter President), Bob Ainsley (Chapter VP), Bill Dorn (Chapter Treasurer), Rolf Maris (Chapter Historian), Lee Purcell (Flag Chairman) and Ed Stinson.
