On Veterans Day, Rear Admiral Jay DeLoach, US Navy (retired) and VP of the New Bern Chapter of the NC Sons of the American Revolution, gave a presentation to the VFW Post 2514 of New Bern. The presentation covered the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, the origins of Armistice Day and its evolution to Veterans Day, and facts about today’s population of US veterans.
