Captain E.A. Bryant, Jr. Recognized by the SAR
During a recent Roanoke Rapids City Council meeting, the Halifax Resolves Chapter recognized Roanoke Rapids Police Department Captain of Patrol Captain E. A. “Andy” Bryant, Jr. on his retirement. The award citation read as follows:
“Captain Earl Anderson “Andy” Bryant, Jr. has served and protected the citizens of Roanoke Rapids for 27 years, working his way through the ranks of the department from Patrolman to Captain of Patrol. Throughout his career, he served us with distinction, pride and selflessness. Captain Bryant has mentored numerous officers in the department over his career helping them gain the training and knowledge needed for their advancement. According to Chief Hasty, the department will be losing a “Jack of All Trades” upon his retirement. Andy has worked many projects for the department including, but not limited to, radios, FTO, Citizens on Patrol and Training Coordinator, taking on whatever tasks were passed down. He could be found at any time, day or night, at the department doing something for someone or the department. His vast knowledge of “Just about Everything” will make the task of filling his shoes extremely difficult.”
Halifax Resolves Chapter past President Ken Wilson and City Council member and Compatriot E.C. Bobbitt presented Captain Bryant with the SAR Law Enforcement Commendation Medal in recognition of his service to the citizens of Roanoke Rapids, NC.
