On September 20th, Alden Hobbs, Jr was installed, at the Tryon Palace History Center in New Bern, as the New Bern Chapter’s newest member.  Alden’s patriot ancestor is Joseph Martin, who resided in Washington County, Virginia and rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel during the Revolution.  Alden is also a New Bern author, who’s most recent publication being “North Carolina Governors and Their Final Resting Places”.  Alden’s son and his mother (three generations) were able to attend this very special occasion.
