On Wednesday, April 27, Gary Gillette, VP & Registrar of the New Bern SAR Chapter, attended the NJROTC award ceremony at the Pamlico High School in Bayboro, NC.   This year, Cadet Derek Flake was the recipient of the SAR JROTC Medal.  Amongst his many other achievements, it was noted that during the school year, Cadet Flake held the position of “Command Senior Chief” and was the “Top Shot” on the school’s Air Rifle Team.
