AP History Teacher and NJROTC Cadet Honored

Halifax Resolves Chapter President Ken Wilson, Nash Central HS Principal Ms. Gail Powers and LCDR Carther Jorgenson, USN (ret) Chairman, Nash Central Naval Science Department, recently interrupted the AP History class of Mr. Renny Taylor in order to present two awards.  First, Mr. Taylor was awarded a certificate and a check for $150.00 for being selected as the Halifax Resolves Chapter winner of the American History Teacher contest. Second, the school’s NJROTC Cadet Commander Adam Moore was in the class and was notified that he was the winner of the Outstanding JROTC contest.  Moore was presented with the Olympic style medal with ribbon, a certificate and a check for $100.00.  Packages for both awardees have been forwarded to the respective NC SAR committee chairman for consideration in the state level contests.
