The Mecklenburg chapter presented its largest program scope to date with the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War Tribute to Veterans program. The evening had 130 people in attendance to enjoy a very special dinner and night of patriotic entertainment, salutes and presentations. The Charlotte A Cappella Show Chorus provided the evening’s entertainment with their incredible 4-part harmonies and beautiful sounds on old and new favorites and patriotic medleys.

Keynote talks were delivered by very special guests US Army Major General Charles H. Swannack, Jr., and famed military correspondent and author Joseph L. Galloway! The evening also included a wreath presentation to all Vietnam veterans and several community awards for individuals who provide outstanding services to veterans and veteran causes. Our own chapter member Matthew Joyner received the SAR Medal of Heroism for his emergency assistance in helping a fellow student who had suffered a seizure in class.
