New Bern Chapter Conducts Patriot Merit Badge Workshop for Scouts

The New Bern Chapter, NC Society, Sons of the American Revolution partnered with the Boy Scouts of America – Southern District of the East Carolina Council, Garber United Methodist Church and Tom Pike, Chic-fil-A (New Bern) to conduct the 2022 Patriot Merit Badge Workshop (PMBW) on Saturday, 24 September 2022. Thirty-two (32) scouts earned their American Heritage, Genealogy and Law merit badges at the conclusion of the workshop. Ninety-six (96) Certificates of Completion and three (3) Certificates of Appreciation were presented at the award ceremony. The 2022 PMBW Project was managed by Ed “Rusty” Stinson and Ed Perkins. Other New Bern Chapter members serving as Instructors were: Jay DeLoach (American Heritage); Gary Gillette (Genealogy); and Ken McCotter, Jr. and Kirby Hart Smith, III (Law). Other members contributing and participating in the 2022 PMBW were: Lee Purcell (Steward); Billy Gordon, Bob Mull and Don Eglinton (Check-in Registration); and Rob Webster (Certificate Preparation).
